While we definitely understand the love and appreciation many have for Coffee here at Simara Blends, we are well aware that for some people Coffee will NEVER be their go-to drink.
Coffee is an acquired taste, but it can also have negative effects on some people. Such as;
- Increased anxiety and coffee “jitters”.
- A quick spike in energy that end’s up making you crash hard….until you have another coffee as a pick me up.
- Development of a coffee dependency. When you’re having multiple coffees a day, your tolerance grows, and you need more coffee to feel the same effects that you once felt from 1 coffee a day.
- Too much coffee can cause headaches, nausea, and an increased heart rate.
While we aren’t saying you need to cut coffee out of your diet completely, there’s definitely a trend in the Health-Food industry moving towards the consumption of less coffee and more coffee-alternatives.
Think specialty lattes, teas, and other drinks.
So what are some ways to help you reduce the amount of coffee you want and need per day?
- Get yourself hyped up and feeling energized in the morning by going for a run! Getting your body moving is one of the quickest ways to get a great boost of endorphins in the morning and get ready for the day ahead.
- Expose yourself to sunlight ASAP. This will help your brain feel that bit more awake in the morning. NOTE: Make sure it’s natural light you’re exposing yourself to.
- Drink lot’s of water. Hydrating yourself properly throughout the day has a whole range of health benefits. If you aren’t drinking your water, the effects you may feel when trying to drink less coffee – such as headaches and withdrawals – will be twofold from feeling dehydrated.
- Try out a coffee alternative! Matcha is a great alternative as it still contains Caffeine, however, it’s a slower energy release, which can keep you feeling energized for hours, resulting in the need to drink less to keep energized. Matcha also contains antioxidants! It’s a win, win.
- Implement a morning routine that is sustainable and achievable. By creating a routine for yourself that includes; getting good sleep, waking up at the same time every day, getting out into the sunshine, or doing anything else to de-stress before the day, you’ll find it easier to cut back on coffee.

We know these things can be easier said than done. For some families, getting up to do exercise in the morning whilst looking after the kids may be a nightmare. But keep pushing; you’ll find what technique works for you, we promise.
Try Simara Blends as a coffee alternative, we promise you won’t regret it.
