Beetroot summer smoothie

We’re back at it again with another delish recipe that’s sure to get those taste bud’s tingling!

You know those mornings where you’re feeling a bit sluggish; maybe you didn’t sleep well or you stayed up watching The Bachelor until the wee hours of the morning (hey, no judgement here!).

Well, if you’re having one of those mornings then we invite you to try out this Beetroot Smoothie! Trust us, it’ll definitely help wake you up.

This delicious, earthy-sweet veggie packed smoothie is as nutritious as it is tasty. One glass of this in the morning and you’ll be feeling #onfleek.

We like to think of this recipe as “health juice” with a buttload of veg, fruit and superfoods!

Beetroot is one of our favourite superfood’s. Beetroot has exceptional nutritional value; it’s rich in Vitamin C and A, Calcium, Iron, Fibre, Manganese & Folic Acids.

Kale is also a hugely popular superfood. It has many of the nutrients in Beetroot, as well as Potassium and Magnesium.

But what really happens when you eat nutrition dense food like kale everyday? In this article by Cat Lafuente, it’s explained that eating Kale everyday can give you more energy, antioxidants, help your cardiovascular system and your gut health!

That’s a lot of benefits.

So, if you’re not convinced yet that this Beetroot Smoothie should be your go-to morning smoothie, then honestly I don’t know how I can convince you more!

If you want to try this out, for this recipe you will need:

Ingredients:

–       1 sliced frozen banana

–       1/3 cup of frozen raspberries

–       1/3 cup of frozen pineapple chunks

–       1 tsp Simara Blends beetroot powder

–       ½ cup milk of your choice (we love oat)

–       Small handful of kale

–       1 tsp chia seeds

 

Directions: ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Add all ingredients to your blender and blitz to a smooth consistency.

Note: If you like your Smoothie thinner then add some water. You can also add Ice if you like!

 

And it’s as simple as that! Wowza! You definitely have to try this one out. We like adding Chia seeds to the rim of our glass for a little extra something.
